Early this afternoon Claridge VFD (Station 63) was alerted to a plane down at the Pittsburgh-Greensburg Airport (Bouquet Airport). The first alarm dispatch included Engine 22 (Export VFD), Engine 30 (Delmont VFD), Rescue 64 (White Valley VFD) as well as our Rescue truck out of Station 87. Chief 63 took command once arriving on scene reporting that the two occupants inside the plane were uninjured.
Initial reports indicate that a single engine plane, while landing, skidded off the end of the runway. Engine 63-2 placed a foam blanket near the plane, which was leaking fuel, to eliminate any risk of fire. Engine 22-1 provided an additional water supply to engine 63-2. Rescue 64 and 87 stood by until cleared by Chief 63.
