RESCUE 87 RESPONDS TO THE PA TURNPIKE TO ASSIST IRWIN VFD

At 15:50 this afternoon, rescue 87 was dispatched to assist rescue 57 (Irwin VFD) with a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment at 68.8 eastbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Rescue 57 arrived on scene to find a vehicle on its roof with one female passenger entrapped. Rescue 57 began vehicle stabilization to ensure the safety of the occupant and first responders. Rescue 87 arrived on scene and assisted rescue 57 with stabilization of the vehicle and extrication of the patient.

Rescue 87 then was then requested to set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter in the area of mile post 72 eastbound on the pike. Rescue 87 cleared the scene at 16:40.
