At 23:40, Truck 87 was dispatched to assist the City of Jeannette (Station 112) with a working house fire on South 6th street in the city. At first, command 112 requested the truck to respond to a stand-by position. However, as the truck was beginning to go en route with six firefighters, Chief 112 requested the truck into the scene.

Once on scene, the truck was placed in an alley and ordered to open the roof on side two. Two firefighters completed that assignment as other members of the crew assisted firefighters from Jeannette,SW Greensburg (Station 24) , and Greensburg Truck Company #2 already working on the interior of the structure.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 1-hour. Truck 87 was back in service around 01:30.
