| At approximately 14:30, engine 87 was dispatched to stand by in Irwin VFD's station. Irwin and surrounding fire departments were operating at a barn fire on Schade Hill Road in the Larimer section of North Huntingdon Township. Engine 87 responded to the stand by with four firefighters. While en-route to Irwin, engine 87 was requested to the scene to assist in completing a 2700+foot hose lay to support fire ground operations. Engine 87 met up with engine 8 (Circleville) and proceed to drop our entire 1500 feet of five inch supply hose which brought us to the fire scene (barely) to feed tanker 1 (Larimer). Once tanker 1 was filled the order was given to wrap up and return. Oh well...at least we had a chance to flip the hose....right? Engine 87 was back in service at approximately 17:30. |
